I spent this afternoon in the garden - doing basic stuff (cutting back the lemon balm that has suddenly become rampant, deadheading my roses - they got their revenge though, and ripped me to shreds! *sob*). I took the customary photos - not so many this time as there's not a huge amount of colour going on in the garden at the moment, but anyway here they are. I also did another drawing. Again I used a bit of artistic license (the hebe - right of picture - isn't flowering yet but it will do soon so I took the liberty of adding the purple flowers anyway), but generally I'm quite pleased with this one. I still think my pictures are a bit two-dimensional, but I do think they capture, for me anyway, the essence of the character of the garden. Maybe I'll do a few more this week while I'm off. Anyway, as before here's a photo of part of what I was drawing:

In other news, I too have been notified of my WISE victim, uh I mean lucky recipient of the finest Lewisham has to offer, so will have to think of some clues to add to my blog. Or maybe I have already surreptitiously dropped a hint? Time will surely tell ;)
