Of course, not nearly as exciting as my W.I.S.E. package, but nearly as exciting - I'm excited anyway!
Some of you may remember my quest to find cheap ways of doing things as I'm about to leave my "proper job" and head for full-time poor studentdom. When I was in Bath last month my friend introduced me to a fab money-saving device which is also very eco-friendly, so I have invested in this for my soon-to-be-poor-as-a-church-mouse existence.
So here it is: courtesy of the fabulous Centre for Alternative Technology shopping section is the marvellous Eco-Ball laundry kit. Up to 1,000 washes, no need for soap or detergent, less need for rinsing - I would be a bit dubious, but my friend has been using them for a while and absolutely raving about them. Apparently it worked out for her that she saved about £20-30 a year on washing powders etc, and combined with my washing machine which is already set up to regulate the amount of water used dependent on the amount of stuff being washed (very handy for me as I'm on a water meter so pay for every drop!), it should save me a lot of hassle and a bit of money too. Hooray!
Mind you, I've seen so many things on that site that I want to buy that I'll probably still overspend by tons if I'm not careful!
