I haven't gone yet!

But most of my furniture has! The house feels enormous now there's hardly anything in it. I hadn't realised till it all went how oppressive I'd found the growing mountain of boxes of stuff. And I can't believe how, after it took so long to pack, that it took them less than 2 hours to get it all out and packed into the lorry. It felt like so much here, but it looked quite lost in the vast cavern of the lorry - most of my worldly goods, I wonder when I'll see them again? Apart from one minor kitchen flood (ably mopped up by The Bridge, newspaper of Southwark Diocese) it was remarkably painless.

Thanks for all the comments, it's nice to know I'll be missed. The computer's not going till Saturday so after then I'll do occasional text blogs and then catch up with everyone when I'm at Greenbelt. In response to ferijen's comment, the stuff's going into storage hopefully just for a few months. When I go UpNorth I shall be staying with friends temporarily whilst I look for somewhere of my own, and then I can retrieve it all. At any rate, that's the cunning plan.

I also got the required documents from the council, and handed them to my solicitor. She says she thinks completing on Monday is unlikely, so we'll aim for later next week. So the feeling of limbo will go on slightly longer, but the end is in sight.
