Today's adventure could have happened a while ago, but I only just plucked up the courage - to drive in this city that I don't know all on my own. I went to view another flat (nice flat, not keen on the area) and apart from a couple of unscheduled detours (including one by a very swanky golf course) I got there and back without any disasters.

The hardest thing was getting the car to start in the first place. Sigh. MOT tomorrow, bracing myself for the extent of repairs as I have no expectation at all that the car will get through it without them.

Flat news: the one I liked yesterday (which was surveyed by someone else the day before) has apparently had an offer made, but the estate agents won't know till tomorrow if the offer has been accepted. So I need to call them tomorrow to find out what's happening, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm too nice for all this cut-throatedness - I really can't remember it being this cloak-and-daggers when I was househunting a few years ago in England. I've found a couple more flats on the internet that I'll try to get to see in the next couple of days, so I'm not feeling too downhearted, but I'm still not feeling enough "in control" of the situation to totally relax.
