Of all the things that could go/are going wrong with my new flat, at least it already has laminate flooring. This weekend I have helped the couple I'm staying with start to lay laminate down in their living room, and it's utterly soul-destroying (not to mention bloody hard work). Easy to put together it said. Simple to assemble it said. (It was lying).
Still, we had a good view of the fireworks from the flat (we're on the 6th floor). So we had all the whizzes and bangs, but none of the cold, and had wine to go with it. That was good.
