I saw my supervisor today, to discuss next week's tutorials which are based on a reading she'd given out, and also to talk about essay marking (I'm still kind of in denial about that). She told me that it is looking like my money situation is going to improve (you'll remember I blogged a while ago that they were going to look into paying me more as they hadn't realised how much less than the other postgrad students I was being paid). I'm still going to get less than the other postgrad students, but it's much less less than now (yes that does make sense!). Probably in the form this year of a lump sum sometime next year then readjusted to my monthly salary from next academic year. So that's a big relief, and should mean that I don't have to spend every waking hour that I'm not in uni doing nursing. Not that I'm doing any nursing yet, I'm waiting till I move so I can apply to local places, but I'm going to have to start soon.
And in other news, there's another shipmeet tonight as ferijen is coming to town (I'm about to add her blog to my links). Hooray!
Ooh, and I meant to blog ages ago and forgot, for those of you from the ship/madtour sites who remember Woolly Hat, I met up with her about a month ago too, it was lovely to see her and catch up, and WH if you're reading this are you coming to the meet in Glasgow in a couple of weeks? Would be fab to see you.
