I have ordered some double glazing! This is very exciting as soon I can start not having my (beautiful) gas fire on full blast constantly because the heat goes straight out of the windows, and hopefully will cut down the noise from the random passers-by. It feels very grown up though - I didn't have to do any of this in my last house, so negotiating my way with a double glazing salesman was a bit daunting. But apart from a too cheesy grin and a propensity to lapse into talking to me like I was his best mate, he wasn't too irritating in the scheme of things.
In other news, today is day 3 of the detoxification. So far so good, though our department secretary offered me a chocolate today and although I was able to resist, man did it smell good. I'm sure when I eat lots of chocolate I don't smell it, but a few days without and my nose has gone into ultra-sensitive mode.
