Although I can't say I'm the world's most regular frequenter of Christian bookshops, I've always appreciated the less-evangelical emphasis of SPCK as opposed to some other bookshops. Not that I have a problem with evangelical bookshops per se, I just sometimes find them a bit scary, and in fact I got a bit wigged out in one last year, at my church's parish weekend away.
So far here the only Christian bookshop I'm aware of is the one attached to scary hat church. So unsurprisingly I haven't bought any Christian books for a while. When I was in London I liked the shop in Southwark Cathedral, and I know Durham Cathedral has a good bookshop also. Otherwise though, I think I may just have to rely on my annual Greenbelt visits to stock up on less scary books.
