I can at least report that some of today's procrastination (5,000 word assignment to be in in 2 days' time, number of words written: don't ask) has been constructive and PhD-related. Most excitingly, I have booked and paid for 2 weeks intensive Romanian language classes at a language school in Transylvania next month, and I have reserved my flights to and from Germany to get there (I'll be in Germany for a couple of days either side of the mammoth Romania trip to stay with my sister). I've also started making plans for the 3 weeks between finishing the language school and actually leaving Romania - I'm hoping to travel round quite a bit, including a few days in Moldova as well, and make some contacts for next year's fieldwork proper, as well as have a bit of a holiday. So that's exciting.
I've still got to write this danged essay though. Argh. Must.Get.Off.Internet.
