cartoon from www.weblogcartoons.com Cartoon by Dave Walker. Find more cartoons you can freely re-use on your blog at We Blog Cartoons. Nothing earth-shattering, but I enjoyed myself (in a "mindless, leave-your-brain-at-the-door" rather than a "highbrow intellectual" kind of a way). I've not read the book, but guessed most of the plotlines pretty early on, and to be honest I really can't understand why anyone would take it seriously. A couple of bits made me jump (but then I'm a wuss), and that's it really. I don't think it would have lost anything much from being seen on DVD though - it's not one of those films with such amazing cinematography it absolutely has to be seen on the big screen. I did have to smile though when they leave Westminster Abbey realising they have to go to Rosslyn Chapel, and then appear in the same clothes like they'd just had a 10 minute hop down the road. Rosslyn Chapel's near Edinburgh! It reminded me of that bit in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" where Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman come ashore at the White Cliffs of Dover, and Kevin Costner says "We'll be in Nottingham by nightfall", despite it being the Middle Ages and them only having horses. So there we are - a couple of hours of silliness, I won't bother to see it again or read the book, but it was fun in a look-at-the-wooden-actors sort of a way, overall I'm glad I saw it but I'll need to find another film if I want my life changing.
