Yep, it's a slow news week - fortunately I've lots of Glasgow photos as a filler :)

This set is of the little community garden near-ish to where I live. I found out about it pretty much by accident, chatting to someone from a local community group at the farmers' market. They do quite a lot of work reclaiming previously derelict ground (like this garden), and also sometimes go into the communal gardens of tenement flats (with the invitation and agreement of all the residents, obviously) and do them up too. They also provide training for local people and young unemployed in gardening, composting etc. The first photo gives a good idea of the scale of the garden. It's in a little side street so although I was flat-hunting last year in this area (and even got a flat literally round the corner surveyed) I had no idea it was here - it's really easy to walk past the end of the street and completely bypass the garden. The second is a little close-up of next to the garden - I liked the pink wheelbarrow, and was amused that it was outside the pub rather than the garden. Mind you, without a wheel I guess it wouldn't be up to much in the way of gardening.

I imagine the neighbours really appreciate the view:
