I'm going to be wearing an alb for the first time ever in a couple of weeks, as I've now joined the rota of servers at church. Am really rather nervous about that. Talk about leaving my comfort zone - I love seeing everyone else being really serious and brilliantly choreographed, and I love the visual and sensual aspects of Anglo-Catholic worship, but when it's me involved I'm just scared I'll get the giggles or drop my candle or go the wrong way and bump into someone. However, at least I know I won't trip up on my alb, as all the ones in the vestry appear to be several inches too short for me.
