Sometimes being British is a bit embarrassing. And other times it is just, well, British. I spent yesterday evening glued to BBC News 24 not quite believeing what was happening in London and elsewhere with the riots (though at least Brockley Central seem to be being less sensationalist than some of the other media coverage). This silly picture is my participation in the Anti-riot OperationCupOfTea (I have yet to master the art of taking my own picture at arm's length and not making myself look like a serial killer; hiding behind the cup was my only option). This picture (first one on the link) made me smile the morning-after-the-night-before, another very British image somehow. Sadly though the other pictures in the article tell a very different story. Following friends and loved ones and news on twitter and facebook has made me sad the last day or so - when will the madness stop?
