It's been a while since I've been to the park, so I went back this afternoon (after tearing myself away from the election coverage - it's been a historic victory for the SNP, who an hour or so ago reached enough seats to have an overall majority, something I didn't think I'd see with this voting system) to check out the baby coots. As you can see, they've lost a lot of their newborn fuzz, but are still generally fluffy rather than feathery. They're now nearly as big as their parents!
