Red Light District

Here are a couple of photos from just round the corner from where I live. The first one is a church above the bank, this is a really distinctive sign which for the past few months hasn't been lit up for some reason.

This evening was the first time in ages I'd seen the pink neon back so I went out to take a picture before the neon disappears again. It's quite the local landmark. I have it on good authority that a couple of years ago the T didn't light up :) This second one is on the same road, and always makes me laugh - there was even a letter in the Metro (free newspaper) about it. The window is above a pub, and every single night the birdcage is illuminated with red light. I don't know what effect the owners are going for, but it always makes me think "Budgie's Boudoir" whenever I see it.
