This sight made me so happy today! I was getting very jealous hearing various England-based friends talking about the snowdrops the last couple of weeks or so - one of the things I really noticed moving up here from down south was the delay of a few weeks before our bulbs appear and herald the start of spring; I think it's one of the things I do really miss from England, that early injection of hope that winter isn't going to last forever! Anyway, I specifically went to Queens Park this afternoon on the (rather roundabout) way to the supermarket, hoping to see some bulbs. There are also the faintest stirrings of the tips of crocus leaves just peeking through the soggy grass, so it looks like there's no turning back and spring is on the way, even here.
