A few people (most recently Auntie Doris a few minutes ago in a PM on the Ship, but also various friends and family and so on) have asked me for my address while I'm here. And you know, I'd love to give it to people, but I can't receive any post here as my flat has neither letterbox in the door nor a postbox/pigeonhole thingy on the ground floor. And, actually (though I usually forget this detail because I know which door is mine) it doesn't actually have a number on the door either - the full official written address (as appearing in the legal papers, which I saw when I signed the contract to rent it) is just Bloggs* Street [No.] 1st floor, Sibiu. This is not normal, even for here - even when I was in Romania years ago there was a postbox/pigeonhole type set up on the ground floor for each separate flat in the block. So there we are, yet another quirk of my life at the moment!
A recent highlight (a couple of days ago) was finding fresh mushrooms in the fruit and veg market. It is a really big market, but the other times I've been I've not found any mushrooms there at all so had to rely on some mushrooms in a jar which were a. soggy and b. flavourless, so basically a bit pointless. So now I have a big bag of mushrooms in the fridge. This makes me happy.
