Getting back into the groove

I've been feeling like I've abandoned my interview data - because of Christmas and essay marking and all the rest of it, I haven't really thought much about my own work since Helsinki a month ago.  Having spent as long as I could procrastinating, today I got back into writing and hopefully I will soon get back into the groove of my research.  I'm writing an article based on the Helsinki talk, and at long last I have got beyond just cutting and pasting bits of my talk and actually writing something a bit more substantial - hopefully tomorrow if I don't finish it I will at least have broken the back of it.  I have spent a fair amount of time though wondering why I didn't read all those millions of books and journal articles months ago.  I really need to get back into the NVivo (computer analysis) of my interviews and media sources as well - it will be a slog, but worth it in the long term.

I think I'm getting there!  The treacle seems to be getting less treacly, so wading in it feels a bit easier.  That's good.
