Not only did it not snap, crackle and/or even pop. It was a very pale off-white colour, and looked for all the world like a bowl of little maggots. It also tasted like wallpaper paste. And by the time I was near the bottom of the bowl, I noticed that the milk closest to the maggots was slightly frothy.
I'm telling you, sometimes it's a false economy. I had to eat 4 bars of chocolate today to recover from the trauma.
Speaking of which ... I have decided to give up buying chocolate (from tomorrow). I know it's not Lent or anything, but I'm not losing any weight at all (in fact I put on a kilo in the last week) and so I think slightly more drastic action is called for. :(
