Well, that's probably something of an exaggeration, but yesterday when I switched it on the belt with the ink cartridges was running back and forth at such speed that the printer was leaping around on the table. And then it refused to print. It does this quite often, usually just before I need to print out an essay. Or if it doesn't do that, it prints OK but then runs out of toner mid-essay. This has happened too many times for it to be a coincidence. Maybe I need to call in an exorcist.
Today I rejoined my local library, as I wanted it to get the books that the supervisors had suggested I read in order to prepare for my PhD application. I'd looked them up on amazon, but the cheapest one was over twenty pounds (one was nearly fifty quid!) so I thought I'd get them free first and see if they really were worth the money. I did have a pang of guilt to start with that I was using this community resource to access a load of expensive books that nobody else in the borough would be remotely interested in, but then I reminded myself how much council tax I pay, so I now feel entirely justified. Goodness only knows when I'll have time to read them though.
