I had another delightfully uplifting* age-related conversation today, this time with Len, the cleaner at work. It went something like this:
Len: They're nice flowers.
Me: Yes, I've got a secret admirer**
Len: Your birthday or something?
Me: Yes. 21 again.
Len: I bet you wish you were.
* Not.
** Sadly this is not true. The flowers were from my colleague. I also got wine and 2 boxes of choc from work, so I won't weigh myself for a while as they will distort the figures (not to mention distorting mine).
As I've noted elsewhere, if the Bible is true when it says that the days of our lives are three score years and ten, then that means that today I am exactly middle-aged. What a thought.
