Various bits and bobs

Today at work was exhausting - a child protection case conference which took all morning, they are always really really draining, a busy baby clinic in the afternoon plus I did some immunisations to help out our one remaining practice nurse (the others are either sick or on annual leave). The one really good thing about it was that I didn't have time to fret about how much I still have to do before I go to Moldova at the weekend (Note to self: DON'T FORGET THE TRAVEL INSURANCE!!!).

My lodger put an offer on a house today. She's been looking to buy a place for ages and I despaired that she'd ever see anywhere at all she liked. We won't know till tomorrow if it's been accepted. She's freaking out a bit that she's made a decision, I'm nodding sagely and reassuringly, but remember exactly what it was like, I was just the same - saw millions of houses and flats, didn't ever think I'd find anything, then made the offer and the stress really started. It'll be weird not having her around, she's been here 3 years now (nearly as long as me), though I must admit I'll love having the house to myself again. Quite apart from anything else, I can put all my clutter in her room and shut the door :)
