I've just noticed that I made "This just in" on the main page for the first time. And I am v.v. chuffed about that. I so need to get out more.
Last night at church we had an evening of awkward questioning of a panel (which included our vicar, Steve Tomkins of Rev Gerald fame, our new archdeacon and a shipmate member of the cong), it was very good (and they had a go at answering my question this time, they had too many last time to include mine). And they gave us food. I like my church very much. Though I got a bit annoyed with the old lady heckler - her first point was good, but then she got a taste for heckling and ended up being (I thought) really rather rude. Ah well - the church would be much duller without the old hecklers I guess.
Today I was back at work, I was dreading it as I could really do with a couple of days off to recover and sort my head out from last week, but actually it was a good day and I got plenty done. Although my desk managed to look like a bombsite within minutes of me arriving back at work, which isn't good.
Had a look at the garden today - my lodger didn't water it last week. The sage has died, my lilies are reduced to stalks (****** beetles!), my arch is falling apart under the weight of the climbers which are doing so brilliantly, my ladybird larvae which I introduced to get rid of my squillion greenfly seem to have been overwhelmed, and the weeds are rampant. But it was still great to be out there - when I move I'll miss it more than anything.
Smudgie, my charity is called Breadline, we don't have a website at present so I can't link you to us, but basically we started in Romania but now work with partners in Moldova and Siberia, working with church groups who are doing community work particularly with very poor communities - activities range from schools work, advocacy, microcredit, agricultural support, and training for "young entrepreneurs" amongst others. We're small but the people we work with are doing fabulous work. Next time I'll see you on MSN I'll bore you some more with it :)
