No, not me (blonde bombshell though I am, of course :) ) but what my dear colleague came out with today. She's retiring and will be leaving at the end of September - this came totally out of the blue and I must admit I'm really upset. I tried to persuade her to stay another year so we could leave at the same time, but that was just me being selfish. It looks like she will be replaced by a newly qualified health visitor, which will leave me as the senior health visitor in the practice which is a bit scary! It will be weird working with a new HV as M. is so experienced (as well as being lovely and absolutely hilarious), but hopefully they'll recruit someone decent. This will give me another push to go for the PhD and leave too next year - can you believe that I've never lasted as long as 2 years in a job? So if I go next autumn that will be the longest I've ever stayed in one place - definitely time to move on then I think.
