I finally got Russian sorted out today, thanks to the very helpful Frederick from Morley College. That's a relief. Now I have to tackle Romanian, where I have a bit of a dilemma. I used to study Romanian at Uni 1, but the last year I studied there (a couple of years back) they said there weren't enough of us in the intermediate class and kept all our money but only paid the tutor half and said we could only have lessons once a fortnight instead of once a week. Which we had to put up with as the only other alternative was to go down a year where it was all too easy. So I said then that I'd never study there again. BUT the only alternative, Uni 2, costs twice as much and only has a beginners' class. But they restrict the class size which says to me that they're more interested in teaching us than getting bums on seats and getting at our cash. But, whilst I know I'm rusty, a beginners' class would be really frustrating for me. Will leave it a few more days and then decide - but I might just have to bite the bullet and go back to evil Uni 1.
I also sorted out scary interview 2 - the final one for my dissertation. The guy I'll be interviewing is the donor's desk officer for our main funding charity, and the reason I put off arranging it was because I'd like to do some consultancy for them in the future and so want to impress them and really really don't want to blow it. But I got an email from him today sounding really interested in my research and taking me really seriously, and offering me nearly a whole afternoon of his time (I asked for an hour). Eek. This is getting scary - first scary UpNorth University tutors, and now scary big charity bosses taking me seriously and not thinking I'm a dork. If only they knew the truth!
