Another short(ish) entry as that essay is STILL looming (it WILL be finished tonight, I have no choice. At least apart from the dissertation it's the last essay I ever have to write for this Masters, a fact which is cheering me up considerably). But here are some Greenbelt high(and not so high)lights:
Good things were:
* Some of the bands: the Handsome Family and Oi Va Voy I particularly liked.
* dfg were hilarious as usual and I will never see praise banners in the same way again now that I've seen their banner waving signifying the seven-horned beast of Swindon. Their version of "Shine Jesus Shine" was also rather unforgettable.
* having a shower off-site in a proper shower every day (thanks wd).
* the Wibsite birthday party! It was a privilege to read out Yay's message to the masses, and to win a stunning delirious? badge for guessing who wrote deeleea's poem (it was deeleea, in case anyone was wondering). And everyone was very polite about the flapjacks. Great to meet some bloggers I'd not met before and put faces to blogs.
* the Tiny Tea Tent.
* black bean burritos.
* Faure's Requiem.
* welsh dragon's picnic.
* catching up with people I'd not seen for ages.
* finishing my jar of Nutella with a spoon (who needs bread anyway?).
* the secret toilets that hardly anybody went to.
Not such good things were:
* the campsite chemical toilets (especially by yesterday morning, although they weren't exactly pleasant before then).
* the swamp surrounding the campsite toilets.
* Friday night in a tent (how cold?????????).
* frothy Guinness in a plastic pint glass.
* the prices in the Winged Ox.
* not having a snog.
* getting another spot.
* bloody mosquito bite on my foot which is still driving me nuts 4 days later.
But, the overall verdict is, as usual, that it was fab. Especially now I'm clean and have had a proper night's sleep.
