Lucky escape

After today's service I was chatting with the vicar and mentioned that I'm hoping to move out of London next year. To which he replied "Ah, so there's no point getting you elected onto the PCC then?" Phew. Nipped that one in the bud.

Mind you, the way I'm feeling at the moment it's really hard to think of moving, or of anything much - too much else going on. I'm mildly freaking out about (a) the dissertation and (b) the PhD application, and I'm so so tired I could easily blow both. I'm sure after a week of sleep I'd probably feel better, but sadly that's not going to happen (week of sleep that is). My state of tiredness wasn't helped by the workers on the railway outside my house starting work at 5.47am this morning VERY LOUDLY. So my first words on this holiest day of the week were, um, slightly less than holy.

Anyway, to do this week, in no particular order:

* Organise thoughts, books, articles, etc so that writing dissertation will be a doddle (dream on).
* Organise thoughts around PhD application prior to meeting tutors who will expect me to have a vague idea what I'm on about.
* Try on dress for next weekend's wedding to make sure it still fits and that I still like it (haven't worn it for ages).
* Send dad's birthday present.
* Contact Masters tutor about my last essay and about the dissertation and try to sound vaguely intelligent when doing so (better not do that one tonight then).
* Book tickets and accommodation for me and others for union/professional body conference next month.
* Get quotes for car insurance renewal (car insurance, MOT/service and tax are all due in the next month or two, so I may later have to add *Rob nearest bank* to this list).
* Pay credit card and gas bills.
* Pick up inter-library loan book.

Reading that list, my life sounds simultaneously very dull and very stressful. Not a good combination. Will have to do something about that.
