Having a Wiblog has changed my life

I saw Dave and Maddie yesterday at a Ship of Fools bash, and Dave told me that if I wrote a glowing and gushing testimony about how having a wiblog has changed my life he would guarantee me fame and fortune (aka a slot on "This Just In"). Or maybe he just said he'd refund my subs. It's all a bit of a blur now to be honest.

Anyway.

Having a Wiblog has changed my life. Along with prescription sunglasses, the spider catcher I blogged about last month, Galaxy Ripple, and sundry other stuff that I'd probably get into trouble about if I mentioned, this blog has ensured that my life will never be the same again (can I stop spreading it so thickly now, Dave?). I confess to having been a bit of a sceptic - I liked reading friends' blogs, but the genre in general I thought was really geeky and also I thought that my life was too dull to write about (and for random other people to read about). That (dull life) turned out to be what ultimately spurred me into blogging action - I figured if people knew what I was up to I'd better start doing some more interesting things. And it's worked! Now my life is one long hectic social whirl.

At any rate, it's one long hectic social whirl when I'm not writing essays, working full-time, doing extra nursing work, learning Russian, being a charity trustee, being a union rep, avoiding excessive church responsibilities and generally being a pillar of the community.

Which is another thing. Before I started blogging I thought I didn't do much, and that what I did was really not very interesting to anyone. And now I know that a. I do bloody tons, and b. I'm the most fascinating person on the planet. Um. Maybe. Seriously, I now have a much more realistic perspective on my life, people seem to find me vaguely interesting, and that has had the knock-on effect of helping with the old self-esteem issues. Which maybe means that b. should read I'm the saddest person on the planet, but it makes me feel better anyway.

And apart from anything else, it's a great way to send subliminal messages to cute guys. There aren't any in this entry though (subliminal messages that is) (or cute guys for that matter), in case anyone is looking for them.

I'm sure Dave would love to hear from other bloggers - how has having a wiblog changed YOUR life? Deposit your life-changing testimonies in my comments thingy.

(Dave - just put the tenner in the Tupperware).
