I've been playing Minesweeper (it doesn't get much more exciting than this, folks!) as I'm putting off writing the final 300 word Executive Summary for my dissertation. But that's OK - by tomorrow it will be written and posted and out of my hands! Yay! I must say I'm so pleased with it, I'll be gutted if I don't get at least a merit.
So, tomorrow's plan: print off required number of copies of dissertation and get them bound and sent off. Email summary of conclusions and recommendations to Moldovan and UK partners so it stops being just an academic exercise and actually turns into something useful for people other than just me. Also on tomorrow's agenda: haircut (eek - I hate having my hair cut, but it's got so untidy I can't take it any more), and retail therapy (hooray!). That's one good thing about having lots of weddings to go to - there's only so many times you can wear the same dress before you just have to buy another outfit. It's a hard life.
Today I had a really good day at work - I know I moan about my job (health visiting, in case anyone was still wondering), but sometimes I really enjoy it and come home feeling like actually I'm sometimes pretty good at it. Today was one of those days, so I feel I deserve the glass of wine I've just treated myself with. My new colleague is hilarious, though he takes the **** mercilessly, so I'm going to have to plan some revenge. I've nicknamed him "Goldenballs" already, which is tame compared to some of the stuff he's been calling me. I think I'm going to have to invest in a peashooter though, as he definitely deserves a regular bit of screwed up paper pinged at him. Next week I'm going to have a harrowing few days, as in the course of Monday to Wednesday I'll be seeing several families with major concerns and complex problems, but today was such a good day I'm feeling ready for anything, unlike the start of this week when (you may have noticed) I was really cheesed off with it all. The end of the week should be a bit more relaxing though (if you don't take into account the hundreds of miles I'll be driving) - I have two days at my union/professional association's conference in Harrogate, then a wedding up north next weekend, where I'll be seeing bloggers holly and smudgie amongst others, so I'm really really looking forward to that. I'll break the journey with a night at my mum and dad's prior to the conference - so I can leave for Harrogate at 4ish in the morning instead of 2 (great) - so all in all I'd say things are pretty good in Jack's world at the mo. Hooray!
