After a really, really long day at work today, this evening I fancied some red wine, but as I've not been to the supermarket for a while to replenish supplies, the only bottle I had was a bottle of dirt cheap plonk that I'd bought in Greece a couple of years ago which once I got back home I never could quite face opening as I was so sure it was going to be horrible. You know, the type of wine you'd be embarrassed to bring to a party. Anyway, as it was the only bottle I had, and as I reasoned with myself that the longer I left it the more horrible it would get, and that I was never going to foist it on someone at a party as it would be too embarrassing and they'd think I'm dead stingy, I cracked it open this evening, more in desperation than anything else.
It's lovely. Yumm. And it's mine, all mine :D
Mind you, there's still a bottle of Retsina from Greece to go - now that one WILL be rough.
