Yesterday I discovered a new means of deterring burglars from entering my house. Basically, what you do is put a couple of eggs in the saucepan to hardboil, put the lid on the saucepan and then forget all about them till you smell the burning. Your house will pong so much that nobody will go near it. Yuck!!! (it still reeks this morning!).
In other news I have decided that chocolate is of the devil. I didn't used to think this, but this morning I stood on the scales. Oh dear oh dear oh dear! So I have decided that what I must do is eat all the remaining chocolate left over from Christmas (and I got a lot this year) as quickly as possible, so that it's no longer there to tempt me :)
Right, I'm off to Matalan (I shop in all the best places you know) to buy some new saucepans. The egg saucepan was the only one left over the years that lodger and I didn't manage to burn to a crisp over the years, I've been resisting buying new ones as I hate chucking things away and wasting them when they're still functional, but then I did buy these particular saucepans in 1988 when I was living out as a student, so I've certainly got my money's worth. And trying to wash up the saucepan this morning was just too gross.
