I spent a lovely afternoon with Singing Semele today.
It was first off to The Dutch Shop where we had croquettes for lunch...mmmmmm. We then did a bit of shopping in the store, after looking at the lovely furniture they have for sale there. I bought some delicious cocoa, some coffee-cream pastilles, various biscuits, and some salted licorice for a work colleague: having tried salted licorice before, I'll pass.
It was then off to nearby Giotto Gelato for some wonderful gelato and more conversation. I then took Semele on a quick tour of my area, including the various schools that held me prisoner and the gym I, occasionally, go to.
We then went and looked at, but did not partake of, being rather stuffed, Abla's Pastry: a marvellous, and large, selection of Lebanese cakes and pastries awaits you when you enter. When I attended St Mark's Anglican, there were often trips there (it being just around the corner) after the service.
I then had a lovely cup of tea at the place she is staying, where I also got to look at her thesis. All I can say is Very Well Done Semele! I had a quick skim and it was truly fascinating. And the amount of work: WOW! As I did Computing Science as my bachelor's degree, we did a programming project rather than a thesis. I thought it darn hard work at the time, but I think I got off rather lightly!
Great to see you again, as always, Semele! Have a safe trip back, and see you again soon.
