The graphic above, from The Sydney Morning Herald (free registration may be required), shows the depth, or rather lack thereof, of waters in the Torres Straight, a body of water lying between Papua New Guinea and Australia.
Fascinating. The accompanying article explains how certain areas would've been above sea-level tens of thousands of years ago. And the rather dramatic drop on the left of the graphic is rather fascinating also. Wonderful stuff.
