Skye's First Christmas

Almost 11 months (I can't believe (1) she's almost 1; and (2) how much she's grown!), so I suppose it all went above her head a bit. But she was very pleased to have all these new toys [and wrapping paper and boxes -- I could've just gave her a newspaper and she would've been as happy ;-)].

Teddy BearI gave her the teddy bear my boss made, and as you can see she wasn't too sure of it at first.

Teddy BearI gave it a hug, and she sooned followed.

She dragged it around and cuddled it for a few minutes.

Until the next present was given. ;-)

You can see a few more photos by clicking here. You'll notice a pool features: remember it's summer down here.

Uncle Ian did quite well for Christmas. On Tractor Girl's recommendation, Santa was notified that I wouldn't mind getting Mike Gayle's Brand New Friend: and thank you Tractor Girl. Absolutely fantastic, funny and a great read. I'll be keeping an eye out for his other books.

As well, I received DVDs of Kath and Kim -- Series 3; Phantom of the Opera; and Kylie -- Showgirl [yes, I am a Kylie tragic: she does put on a good show though!] I also received a TV/DVD player to play them with. Wow.

As well as New Best Friend I received a wonderful Narnia Book Set from my dear friend Annette, who is living it up in London at the moment.

Early in the new year I went to Borders and bought The Spanish Apartment and Six Feet Under -- Series 1 DVDs. I'd never watched Six Feet Under, but I saw an episode when I visited Singing Semele in Ordo Virtutum, and loved it.

I've been kept busy watching DVDs and reading books since, which is a lovely way to relax and unwind.
