Macquarie Ice Rink being the cause of the pain rather than a bike this time. Or rather, my lack of ice-skating ability and the fact I fell over several times. For some reason my left-thigh is quite sore: I think I fell on it more often than my behind.
But it was great fun. I haven't been ice-skating for over eight or so years, and it was a very enjoyable. And lovely and cool compared to the warm weather outside.
Last night I went to Nila's place for her leaving party/dinner before she heads back to work abroad in London. It seemed every relative of hers was there, which was a lovely thing. Her family is very close: most of them living in Australia moved to Sydney from Sri Lanka -- there are a few in Melbourne I believe. We had a very nice evening, with plenty of fantastic food: including some rather spicy Sri Lankan food I needed to stay clear of as I have no tolerance for even the minutest trace of chilli. The conversations were also fantastic: so many people and so many topics. The evening flew by.
Friday evening a number of us from church went to a restaurant to celebrate a fellow parishioner's birthday! God grant her many, many years! I do love spending time with my brothers and sisters: they are wonderful people and a great blessing. I had a number of interesting discussions with a variety of people, from the Luther movie, to liturgics to prayer ropes to cricket (the latter which holds no interest for me). I am very blessed with my parish: many people told me they missed me last week (when I visited a friend's parish) -- it may show my ego, but it was nice to hear it. I missed them too.
I'm looking forward to a quiet night tonight.
