I'm moving out of Sydney and heading down to Bargo, a town in the Wollondilly Shire. I start moving my things in this Thursday.
I'm looking forward to seeing what life might be like in a rural-type setting. Bargo is a very small town, and it will be interesting to see if I can cope. I love Sydney, but it also frustrates me: too fast-paced, too expensive, too self-obsessed at times... I've always wanted to live somewhere quieter, and I'll see if I can. In the future I'd probably like to live a bit closer to Sydney [for ease of travel to work/church/courses I like to do]: perhaps Picton or Camden: but the price and house was right for me at Bargo, so I thought I'd take it and see.
It will be, thank you God, a bit cooler (a lot cooler even!) down there compared to Sydney: I'm not complaning -- the current heat and humidity [February is the worst time to be in Sydney] are annoying me, and I do love the cold weather. Love it.
I know I'll miss the multicultural aspects of where I live now, and Sydney in general, but it's only a quick drive away. I'm staying at my current job and I will, of course, continue to attend my parish. I can't imagine being anywhere else.
I'm renting a small place that is half of what was once a church [the other half is another unit]. It's been renovated and is a good size for me. Nice wooden floorboards and the original wooden church door is my front door. Very nice.
I had a rather nice win when I bought a new fridge and washing machine. The store I bought it from has a competition where you picked a number off a board to when a prize: I chose 303, and won an XBox! I don't play computer games, but it was a nice surprise. I may start playing: or I may sell it and get some money back from my whitegoods purchase!
Life may be a bit hectic this week and next, so you'll possibly be free of my rantings. I'll write again soon when I'm all moved in.
