Holy Week

The journey to Pascha has reached its final week. We have arrived at Holy Week, and we participate in some very special and moving services throughout this week. We are especially blessed to have some many services as our priest is only part-time (he works a full-time job to support him as we are as yet unable to) and we have no fixed home. And thanks must go to the priest and people of St Michael's Catholic Church, Meadowbank who are letting us use their school hall this week as the hall we rent was not available. God is gracious in His providing indeed.

I'm probably the last person in the world to discover this, but the Greek Archdiocese of America has an absolutely wondrous Great Lent, Holy Week and Pascha section on their website: I wish I had've discovered this earlier. An absolute cornucopia of information: from details of the services, to explanations of the icons for the Feasts, to articles on the Feasts, to audio of some of the hymns and even videos of the services! Thanks be to God for all those involved there providing such a rich resource. For those who may want to play along at home with us Orthodox this week, you can click that link and use the drop-down box at top-left to select a feast. The current day's service (US time) is shown at left in the main section.
