Kristus er opstanden!
[last entry: Deborah got it: Atgyfododd Crist! is Welsh. A hearty Atgyfododd Crist! to all the many, many Welsh Wibloggers! Response: Yn wir atgyfododd!]

As the second month of autumn draws to a close, there is a definite chill in the air down here. When I got home today, I noticed the smell of smoke in the air and many chimneys with smoke billowing up from them: people here have started their fires. I don't have a fireplace, so I'm off to look for a heater tomorrow. In some sense I would like a fireplace: even though I've never had one, just thinking about it conjures up images of warmth, comfort and relaxation. Though I imagine I'd soon tire of chopping wood!

Awaiting collection at home was a wonderful parcel: The Monastic Diurnal. I am greatly looking forward to using it in my daily rule of prayer: and the thought that many have prayed these hours before me, are praying them with me now, and will pray them in the future is a great source of comfort, resting in and remebering the entirety of God's People: past, present and future.

I had also asked for a copy of Confessions for Christians which was published by Lancelot Andrewes Press also: the very kind people there gave me three! I know two others who would greatly benefit from copies, so I shall send them on.

Now, off to watch some TV [the show, Unit One, gives the language used above] under my large and warm blanket, with a nice cup of hot chocolate.
