Ua ala hou ´o kristo!
[last entry: Basque - Cristo Berbistua!; response: Benatan Berbistua!]

A very happy Mothers' Day to all the mothers out there! And a big thank you to my mum who has given me love unbounded and who gave so much of herself at all times: without expecting, and to my shame sometimes not receiving, anything back.

Icon - Jesus Healing the ParalyticThe paralytic was not healed by the pool; but the Word renewed him; nor was he hindered by his infirmity of many years; for the effect of Your voice was seen to be sharper than the infirmity. Wherefore, he cast down his heavy burden and carried the weight of his bed, a testimony to the abundance of Your compassion. Glory to You!
verse from Matins

Epistle: Acts 9:32-42
Gospel: John 5:1-15

We were blessed today to have our Archbishop and Metropolitan, Paul Saliba, (Lord, preserve our Master and Chief Priest, and grant him many years!) serve Divine Liturgy at our parish. With him was subdeacon Rafic Al Baba (second item on the page) who has recently arrived from Lebanon: it was a great pleasure and blessing to meet him. He truly does has a wonderful chanting voice, as well as wonderful personality, and we are blessed to have him in our archdiocese.

Please also continue to remember our sub-deacon who will be ordained to the diaconate on the evening of May 28. And also our priest and his family as they take a break and also take a pilgrimage in Europe.
