Today is the Feast Day of Pachomius the Great, a founder of coenobitic monasticism (where monks/nuns live a communal life in a monastery/convent) and one of the Desert Fathers.
Troparion:
By a flood of tears you made the desert fertile,
and your longing for God brought forth fruits in abundance.
By the radiance of miracles you illumined the whole universe!
Our Father Pachomius pray to Christ God to save our souls!
Kontakion:
After living the life of the angels in the body,
you were granted their glory, God-bearing Pachomius.
Now standing with them before the throne of God,
you pray that we all may be forgiven.
