A very pleasant Saturday spent indulging in yet-more-pancakes, this time wholemeal pancakes with ricotta, cinnamon and passionfruit in a shaded courtyard, and a wonderful coffee at Goldberg Coffee House, followed by some retail therapy (new walking and dress shoes) and then a walk along the Pacific Ocean at Bar Beach on a gloriously sunny day.

A half-hour-or-so bike ride with Skye did not remove all traces of pancakes as I found when I put on a tight pair of work pants today, but it was a beautiful afternoon for a ride and Skye is getting more and more stable, and able to climb the hills on the path more and more. It was great to talk to and spend time with her too: she is growing and growing. And as part of some great achievements at school she is having lunch with the principal on Wednesday.

Jessie is currently obsessed with "movies": "movies" being any DVD -- TV show or movie. As soon as she gets up it is "I want watch moooovie". Diego and Dora the Explorer DVDs have been getting a workout; Eden managed to get Shawn the Sheep and Curious George slipped in somehow, so there was some relief from a week of constant Diego and Dora for Uncle Ian and their parents.

Eden is riding her bike with training-wheels around more and more, and she is enjoying using some PC software to draw and colour and play matching games. And she still has a whole host of books brought to me for reading.

Life is pretty good: thanks be to God.
