Industry at Night I took a longer route back home Friday, just because I wanted to see a bit more of Newcastle... I drove along Kooragang Island (Google Map), home to a deep water port for the export of coal. Cement and fertiliser manufacturers are also there. It was amazing to see it all lit up at night...my poor photograph only shows a very small part of it. Industry at Night Today [Saturday] I popped down to the local gym, run by the YMCA, for BodyPump class. For some reason my legs seem far more sore than usual...but I am telling myself pain is a good sign. :) A great fun instructor and nice people in the class who even waved to me as I drove out of the car park. And, even better, as I am staying at my sister's place and as they have a family membership (my nieces do gymnastics), I can get membership for free. I will of course help out my sister and brother-in-law, but that is one less full expense in the meantime. I also took the time to look around the main town centre and see what was where. Work continued well to the end of the week, for which I am thankful for: God is indeed gracious. I spoke to some friends from Sydney last night and this afternoon which was wonderful as well. They are all well, and they were all happy for me that this job started well, and as a close and knowledgeable friend whose judgement I trust said he could see that this was a very good job for me not only for where I am but for the future. It is nice to know things -- so far, for I know there will be a few times of a feeling of isolation in one sense or another (and I need to find a Lebanese restaurant quickly! :) ) -- are going well: thanks be to God. Tomorrow I am visiting a Russian Orthodox Church in Newcastle as I seek a parish to call home. Well, Eurovision Semi-Final II is screening here in under 10 minutes, so I am off to get my warm Milo and snacks in preparation... Good night to you all.
