First day...

And I am through unscathed.

A very good induction session conducted by my boss. A short 101 Introduction to Accounting from my boss, as I will be providing reports on financial data: I did get a bit confused in some areas and knew some areas from my experience in my last long-term job, but all-in-all okay. Followed by some self-study training from around 3pm which went well. I got to meet my colleagues, forgetting some names almost as soon as I was introduced (thankfully I only have around 20 colleagues so hopefully the names will come easily...); they all seem great and ready for a laugh which was great to see.

Chatted to a friend on the (hands-free) phone on the way home to disucss the first day. And promptly missed a turn, somehow travelling along in a circle route that had me heading back to work! Made my way back home to my sister and nieces (brother-in-law works late) where a lovely dinner was prepared and I got to talk and play hide-n-see with my nieces.

A very good day.

Photo #1: the Hunter Stadium, where the local Rugby League and Soccer teams play. Right next to my office, so parking is not a problem so far -- with no game on there were many, many places to choose from.
