In 2003, my last trip to Germany (I hope to return soon: I do love Germany and Austria), I visited a restaurant in Berlin that had been around since the 17th century, if my memory serves me correctly [though I've forgotten its name]. Fast-forward to 2006, where friends of mine, currently in London on a working holiday, were shown around Berlin by a friend of theirs. Guess where they went for dinner one night? When my friend was describing it and where it was located, it sounded familiar; so I shot off the photo on left and indeed, they did go there.
Tonight I had my first experience of contact lenses: ten or so gos and I still couldn't get them in. The optometrist put them in, and on the third go I managed to get them out. I then tried to put them in...and failed...just. I have three weeks of trying them before I go back for the follow-up appointment: hopefully I can get them in before then! When I was wearing them, it was an odd sensation not wearing glasses yet being able to see very clearly. We'll see how it goes.
