Yesterday (June 30), we celebrated the Feast of the Synaxis of the Twelve Holy Apostles. The icon to the right was given to me from my parish as my Chrismation Gift. I find it a wonderful representation of Christ's words in John 15 about Christ being the vine and the importance to remain in Him.
The day before we celebrated the Feasts of Ss Peter and Paul. Mimi posted a wonderful quote from St Gregory Palamas.
And today we remember Cosmas & Damian the Holy Unmercenaries. Cosmas and Damian appear to be popular saints in Orthodoxy, in terms of numbers: as well as those we remember today, there are Feasts for different Cosmas' and Damian's also physicians, on October 17 and November 1.
