Christ is Risen!

I am glad my pancake indugence has led to a few others; I feel even more part of this community. :) I actually went and had some again today... Gluttony, thy name is Ian!

Quite a bit of rain on this side of the earth. Here is my parents' backyard (spa to the left...what luxury!) half-hour or so ago: rather a lot of water, with a small, but growing, pool forming down near the fence.

I am off to Holy Transfiguration Monastery tomorrow until Sunday; I am very much looking forward to it, it being my first visit there and my first stay for several days at an Orthodox monastery. Visits to monasteries for spiritual strength, spiritual counsel and time spent dedicated to the worship of God is a key part of the Orthodox life, and one I have not taken very seriously to be honest. There are not as many monasteries in Australia as elsewhere, but there are a number, and I should make time to visit them. I pray it may be a benefical time for me. I was planning on going with someone, and earlier this week, but they can no longer go so I am heading down there myself. A blessing in one way...the delayed leave meant I got to spend today with my nieces who are down with my sister for a few days.

On the job front, I had an interview last Wednesday and a phone interview this morning for a 1-to-2-month contract, and I have an interview next Monday -- so at least I know I am skilled enough, and my applications are professional enough, to get interviews. May God grant me the patience to wait for the right job.
