The hilarious current show of Australian comedienne Judith Lucy. I can't recall the last time I have laughed so hard, and for so long.
The name of the show comes from the fact she was sacked from a commerical radio station after a very public fall in ratings. She may not be suited to that job, but I've been a fan of Judith Lucy for a while and she is definitely an extremely funny, and talented, woman.
The material covered was vast: her time at the radio station, and the insane stunts and challenges suggested there to get ratings; women's magazines (which she had to read while on the radio); colonic irrigation; gall bladder removal; the cult of celebrity; and the (drunken) meeting of the man who is now her fiancé. There was also an 'open-question' session which was very enjoyable also.
Very much recommended.
It was also my first visit to the Seymour Centre: and a pleasant surprise when I arrived to find a BBQ out the front and various meat snacks available. I grabbed a very enjoyable bread-roll with sausage and grilled onions before the show.
Looking forward to my weekend in Canberra: I will catch-up with Semele, some shipmates, and visit the Canberra Zoo and Aquarium with my niece, sister and brother-in-law. If time permits, I'll try and spend an hour or two at the National Museum of Australia as well.
