Phew! A rather busy weekend, and Monday, which I'm including as part of a long weekend as I took today off work to do some things.
The move went well: the parts that have been completed. Boxes stare at me accusingly, demanding to be unpacked. But I'm resisting their calls for now.
On Sunday I joined Deeleea and Miss Lisa for a wonderful Turkish meal at Mado Cafe in Auburn: and it was all the more wonderful for having two lovely ladies to dine with: Yay you were missed: hopefully we can catch up at the next Sydney Wibmeet, which will be on your side of the bridge.
Today, with mum [three cheers for mums! always eager to help out: thanks mum!], I did a final clean of my old unit, handed back the keys, returned several library books, and then had a nice lunch with mum at a cafe in Picton.
I then headed down to Bowral to take a photo of a church I mystery worshipped two weeks ago. On the way back to Sydney, I stopped in at Mittagong as I saw a Barber Shop and I needed a haircut. While talking to the women there, I found out they had just been filmed by a BBC crew for a documentary about the shortage of hairdressers and barbers in Australia, and the fact that the government is seeking immigrants skilled in hairdressing from the UK to come over and settle. Hopefully the ABC, our national broadcaster / BBC-equivalent, will screen the programme here.
I'm over at my parents using their PC as Telstra, despite promising me a-week-and-a-half ago that my broadband would be moved to my new account last Friday, have not provided what they said they would: a call today has Thursday as the earliest date of connection. I hope I can last that long.
