The rain has continued, and the rivers flowing through much of NSW and Victoria are in all states, from receding, to currently flooding to will flood. The town of Forbes, which I travelled through just over a month ago, has been cut into three by the swollen Lachlan River.
And an odd, to me, consequence (and a scary one given my dislike of spiders, though these are apparently harmless to humans):
Floodwaters have stirred up what appears to be millions of spiders around Wagga Wagga and the creepy crawlies are heading for higher ground.Residents taking refuge from flood and spider in the Red Steer pub say you cannot walk down the road without swarms of tiny brown spiders crawling up your legs, and in their escape they have left entire paddocks and trees swathed in silver silk.
Continued prayers for all affected, with thanks to the fantastic work of the emergency services including the State Emergency Service, charities who are helping those in need, and all involved in assisting during these floods.
