A glorious Sydney September day: the sun is shining and there is but the hint of the gentlest breeze. Perfect for a walk or a bike ride: which is what I may do this afternoon.
Saturday morning is a time I've always loved to go to a café and sit down with a coffee, something sweet and a book. And just take it easy. Now that I'm living in Liverpool, I'm very spoiled for choice: and my plan is to visit a new place every Saturday morning,
Today I almost didn't get there: a minor hiccough on the server overnight during end-of-month processing meant that I dashed into the office this morning to ensure everything was alright. Thanks be to God it was: although investigations revealed something funny did happen during the middle of the month. I'll look into it on Monday.
I escaped just after 10:30 and made my way to Cavallaro's: and what a feast awaited my eyes. Wedding cakes, Confirmation cakes, birthday cakes, other cakes, pastries and sweets, many of Italian origin, greeted my eyes. After a very hard decision-making process I settled for a chocolate cannoli and my favourite coffee, a mocha: chocolate and coffee -- how can you go wrong? A beautiful coffee and an absolutely scrumptious cannoli: highly recommended. And it is clear it is a popular place: a constant stream of people came in to either grab a coffee, or pie, which they also sold, or to collect a pre-ordered cake or pastry selection.
The sunshine awaits: though the laundry does also. Have a great weekend all.
